Tuesday Re-freshies

Update

At 8am Tuesday morning 2” of new snow has fallen overnight at the Challenger snow-stake with light snow continuing to fall and temperature of 18 degrees in the village. For Tuesday expect light snow to continue throughout the day with another 2-4” likely and a high temperature of 25 degrees at 8000’. Winds on the ridges and in the alpine will be moderate, out of the SW at 10mph - 15mph with an occasional gust to 20mph.

Another wave of moisture moves in on Tuesday night looking to bring an additional 2-4” by first chair Wednesday morning. This wave will move through by mid-morning then a mix of clouds, flurries, and sunny breaks will follow for Wednesday.  This “mountain mix” of clouds, snow showers and a few peeks of sun looks to be the daily routine through Saturday.  A warm front will increase daytime temps starting Friday topping out with a high of 40 degrees at 8000’ on Saturday. A glimmer of hope lies on Sunday when a vigorous Canadian cold-front pushes south into the region that looks to possibly bring heavy snow into the Big Sky area Sunday and Monday.
