Sunny Hump Day Forecast

Update

At 8am Wednesday morning no new snow has fallen overnight at the Challenger snow-stake with clearing skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 19 degrees in the village. For Wednesday expect clouds to fully clear off this morning to partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 26 degrees at 8000’. Winds on the ridges and in the alpine will be light, out of the W-SW at 5 - 10mph.

Just like clockwork another small disturbance moves in tonight after midnight bringing light snow with 2-4” likely by first chair on Thursday. On Thursday expect clearing skies through the morning with a few sunny spells possible during the afternoon hours. A warm front on Friday will bring in clouds and some flurries but no accumulations are expected. Daytime high temps will rise into the low 30’s Friday and near 40 degrees at 8000’ on Saturday. Sunday will bring us a vigorous Canadian cold-front that could bring heavy snow but will certainly bring temps back to below seasonal averages. It will feel like February next week.
