Bluebird Thursday

Update

At 8am Thursday morning around 1” of new snow has fallen overnight at the windblown Challenger snow-stake with fully clear skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 17 degrees in the village. For Thursday expect sunny skies and a high temperature of 26 degrees at 8000’. It is already breezy out there this morning but expect moderate NW Winds in the alpine areas today to be 15 – 20mph with gusts up to 30mph.

A warm front on Friday will bring in gusty south winds with clouds and some snow showers with maybe an inch or two through the day. Daytime high temps will rise into the low 30’s Friday and near 40 degrees at 8000’ on Saturday. Saturday will likely be a partly sunny, but quite windy day with sustained south winds expected to be 25-30mph with gusts up to 40mph. Sunday will bring us a vigorous Canadian cold front that could bring heavy snow during the afternoon hours with 3-6” possible into Sunday night. Lingering snow showers Sunday night into Monday may bring another inch or two. Monday’s high temp at 8000’ is expected to be 10 above. That’s Montana weather for you.
