Fantastic Friday

Update

At 8am Friday morning 2” of new snow has registered at the Challenger snow-stake with moderate snow falling and a temperature of 19 degrees in the village. For today expect snow into the early afternoon hours with 2-4” likely before clearing off around 2pm and a high temperature of 22 degrees at 8000’. It will be a breezy day across Big Sky, which is already evident this morning with the full flags a flying at Everett’s with SW winds 20-25mph with gusts up to 35mph.

Brief high-pressure ridging will last into Saturday with cloudy skies and continued moderate SW winds to 25mph with highs at 8000’ around 21. With a slight change to the Saturday night to Sunday forecast due to the upper level jet sagging further south than models anticipated, our winter storm will be slightly less potent than previously reported with 3-6” of snow now anticipated through last chair Sunday. Presidents Day looks to start out a cloudy day before light snow starts up around noon with 1-2” possible through last chair. This has been one epic winter so far…
