A Sunday Refill

Update

At 8am Sunday morning 2” of new snow has registered overnight at the ever challenging Challenger snow stake with cloudy skies and snow flurries over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 16 degrees in the village. For today expect snow to increase late morning and last throughout the day with 2-3” possible by last chair and a high temperature of 24 degrees at 8000’. Moderate West to SW winds of 16-22mph with gusts up to 30mph will be blowing on ridge tops and in the alpine areas.

Another wave of moisture arrives Sunday night that looks to drop another inch or three overnight. President’s Day will be a mostly cloudy day with snow showers in the afternoon with a high around 17 at 8000’. The weather pattern will unfortunately dry out for the next week through Friday. Strong high-pressure builds over the NW diverting storms to the south and north of Montana. The good news is that sunny skies and seasonal temperatures should keep the snow stellar across Big Sky through Friday.
