A Merry Christmas Forecast with Snow On the Way
Summary
Christmas Day will bring the sun and comfortable daytime temperatures in the mid to upper 20’s. Santa has dropped a package of a small storm system that will bring up to 5” of snow to Big Sky on Saturday. Things clear out slowly on Sunday.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 11 degrees in the Village and 22 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently mostly clear with a few high clouds over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. Currently at the top of Andesite winds are light out of the east.
For Christmas Day shredders, expect a day of partly sunny skies with high temperatures at 8900’ rising to 29 degrees. South/SW winds will be light from 10-15mph with an occasional ridge top gust to 25mph.
Extended Forecast:
Clouds will be on the increase later in the afternoon in advance of our next storm system. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for 5AM Saturday fthrough 11AM Sunday for up to 5” of snow. Snow showers move in Saturday morning with 1-3” possible by last chair. Snow showers continue into Saturday night and Sunday morning with another 1-3” possible. Sunday afternoon, a transitionary period with clouds, flurries, colder temps along with a few sunny spells. Things look to fully clear out on Monday for a clear and crisp winter day. Expect the sun and cold temps to hang around Tuesday and Wednesday before unsettled weather returns Thursday and Friday. Merry Christmas, have fun, and be respectful of others!
