Summary
A few clouds framed the full moon this morning over Lone Mountain for an otherworldly scene. These clouds will slowly clear off by noon for a partly sunny day with temps staying chilly with a high of 15 at 8900’. A weak system could bring 1-3” Wednesday night into Thursday. After that, a stronger storm system is progged for late Saturday into Sunday.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 2 degrees in the Village and 13 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently mostly clear with a few clouds over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. West/NW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 13mph with gusts to 26mph.
For today expect a partly sunny kind of day (more clouds in the morning, more sun in the afternoon) with moderate West/NW winds 15mph with gusts to 25mph becoming lighter before noon (10/15 mph). High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 15 degrees.
Extended Forecast:
Mostly cloudy skies will be in store for Wednesday with continued daytime temps in the upper teens (8900’). The next weak system will bring sporadic snow showers late Wednesday night with a 40% chance of 1-2” overnight possible. Off and on snow showers look to hang around Thursday, possibly adding another inch with high temps around 20 degrees. Things look to clear out for a mostly sunny New Year’s Day (Friday). Increasing clouds on Saturday will lead to better chances of measurable snow on Sunday. Stay tuned.
