A Little Snow

Summary

A weak system has entered the region as we speak and is still projected to bring storm totals of 2-4” by Thursday morning. Another inch is possible on Thursday. A brief break for a sunny New Year’s Day and Saturday, then clouds return ahead of a storm system anticipated for Sunday.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 7 degrees in the Village and 14 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently cloudy with snow flurries over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. No new snow accumulations. South/SW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 5mph.

For today expect a cloudy day with occasional on and off light snow showers with 1-2” possible.  Look for SW winds to be around 20mph with gusts to 30mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 18 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

Another wave of moisture will bring sporadic snow showers Wednesday evening with a 50% chance of 1-2” overnight. Off and on snow showers look to hang around Thursday, possibly adding another inch with high temps around 20 degrees. Things look to partially clear out for a partly sunny New Year’s Day (Friday). After a partly sunny morning, increasing clouds on Saturday afternoon will lead to better chances of measurable snow on Sunday.
