Overnight Refresher

Summary

4 inches overnight and light snow continues to fall into the morning hours with possibly another inch by noon. A brief break for a sunny New Year’s Day and a partly sunny Saturday, then clouds return ahead of another weak storm system anticipated for Sunday into Monday.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 17 degrees in the Village and 15 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently cloudy with light snow showers over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. 4” overnight at Andesite and 3” at Headwaters snow stake. Light SW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 3mph.  

For today expect a cloudy day with on and off light snow showers mainly through the morning hours with 1” possible. Look for West/SW winds to be around 10mph with gusts to 20mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 20 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

Skies will generally clear out for a mostly sunny New Year’s Day (Friday) with a high of 22. Saturday will offer partly sunny skies with increasing clouds later on Saturday afternoon. Sunday will bring a cloudy day with numerous flurries with around an inch possible. Better chances of accumulating snow appear for Monday and Tuesday. Stay tuned.
