2021 Rings in with the Sun

Summary

As this season has been heavy with sunny days so far, it seems appropriate that sunny skies bring in the New Year. By Saturday morning those skies will be dropping a few flakes but unfortunately just a skiff to an inch is likely. Our next storm system is now anticipated for Monday night into Tuesday and another on Thursday. Maybe 2021 will finally bring the big snow event we crave?

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 16 degrees in the Village and 15 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently partly cloudy over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. Light West winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 5mph with gusts to 17mph.

For today expect a mostly sunny day with West/SW winds at 15mph with gusts to 25mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 23 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

After a few morning snow showers that could bring a skiff to an inch Saturday morning, the clouds will slowly move off by noon offering partly sunny skies for the rest of Saturday. Sunday will bring a cloudy day with numerous flurries with around an inch possible. Better chances of accumulating snow now appear to be Monday night into Tuesday. Another area of low-pressure appears to enter SW Montana for Thursday as well.
