A Little Pow Refresher
Summary
3” overnight will make Saturday that much more enjoyable as we enter the last 2 days of the Holiday stretch. SW winds to 40mph will blow in on Sunday for a blustery day of clouds, flurries and blowing snow. Our next storm system is still on for Monday night into Tuesday with 3-5” possible.
Update
Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 15 degrees in the Village and 18 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). 3” of new snow fell overnight. Skies are currently cloudy with snow flurries over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. Light South/SW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 5mph with gusts to 13mph.
For today expect flurries until around 11am with another half inch possible. For the rest of the day expect partly cloudy skies with a few sunny breaks along with moderate West/SW winds at 20mph with gusts to 25mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 20 degrees.
Extended Forecast:
Southwest winds will increase across the region on Sunday with gusts to 40mph possible across the higher terrain and ridge tops. Skies on Sunday will be mostly cloudy with numerous flurries with around an inch possible. After a mostly sunny day on Monday, accumulating snow returns on Monday night into Tuesday with 3-5” possible. Another break on Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds before another area of low-pressure appears for Thursday with similar accumulations possible.
