Breezy and Snowy

Summary

A weak storm system is advancing into SW Montana this morning that is on track to bring light snow and 1-3” accumulations by days end. Gusty SW winds will also be part of that storm package with gusts to 40mph across the higher terrain. Our next storm system is still on for Monday night into Tuesday with 3-5” possible. Another wave Wednesday night into Thursday could bring and additional 2-4”.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 17 degrees in the Village and 20 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow fell overnight. Skies are currently cloudy with snow flurries flying over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. South/SW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 6mph with gusts to 23mph.  

For today expect snow showers to become heavier through the morning hours with accumulations of 1-3” by last chair this afternoon. Gusty SW winds will also be on the increase blowing at 25mph with gusts to 40mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will be around 24 degrees.

Extended Forecast:

After a mix of clouds and a few sunny spells on Monday, accumulating snow returns on Monday night into Tuesday with 3-5” possible. Another break on Wednesday with partly sunny skies before another area of low-pressure invades for Wednesday night into Thursday with 2-4” possible. High-pressure then builds in for a dry and sunny Friday and Saturday.
