Sunny Wednesday / More Snow Tonight

Summary

The upper reaches of Lone Mountain received around 10 inches from Monday night’s storm which has transformed the alpine areas into a powder heaven. Another wave late Wednesday night into Thursday looks to bring in an additional 3-6” refresher. Things then dry out Friday into the weekend.

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 16 degrees in the Village and 19 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow fell overnight. Skies are currently partly cloudy over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. South winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing lightly at 3mph with gusts to 8mph.  

Today expect mostly sunny skies with mild temperatures. Light to moderate south winds will be blowing at 10-15mph with gusts to 25mph across those wind prone areas. High temperatures at 8900’ this afternoon will up to around 27 degrees.  

Extended Forecast:

Our next system will enter into the region after midnight Wednesday bringing light snow into Thursday morning with 3-6” likely. Snow showers may linger into the afternoon hours on Thursday with a high temp of 19 degrees at 8900’. With the exception of a few flurries Friday night, high-pressure brings back dry and sunny forecasts for Friday through the upcoming weekend with high temps (at 8900’) around 20 degrees.
