Mild Monday

Summary

Another bluebird day before the sky changes back to gray on Tuesday. A westerly flow will transport a small storm system through the region on Wednesday and Wednesday night with 2-5” possible. Gusty SW winds will also be part of Wednesday’s disturbance. Another weak system is now looking possible for the weekend.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 5 degrees in the Village and 21 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). This is a good example of an air inversion. Skies are currently clear over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. SW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing lightly at 3mph.

Today expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature (at 8900’) of 29 degrees. West/SW winds will be blowing to around 15 mph.

 Extended Forecast:

Clouds will be on the increase Tuesday morning across the mountains with gusty SW winds to 35mph developing by afternoon. Continued mild daytime temperatures with a high of 28 degrees at 8900’. A westerly flow aloft will transport our next system into the region Wednesday with snow showers continuing into Wednesday night. Weather models now are hinting at accumulations of anywhere from 2 to 5 inches. SW winds with gusts to 45mph are also likely on Wednesday. High pressure then rebuilds for dry skies Thursday and Friday. Another weak disturbance is possible next weekend.
