Clearing - But Still Breezy

Summary

The cold front that blew through yesterday packed a punch in the wind department with 55mph gusts on Andesite and close to 70mph up top of Lone Mountain. But it left the snow behind at the Continental Divide. Look for dry and mostly sunny skies Thursday through Saturday. Snow returns to the forecast Sunday and MLK Monday.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 16 degrees in the Village and 8 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow was reported in the last 24-hours. Skies are currently partly cloudy over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. West winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 12mph with gusts to 26mph.

Today expect a mostly sunny day with chilly daytime temperatures with a mid/upper mountain high of 16 degrees at 8900’. West/NW winds of 15mph with ridge top gusts to 30mph will make it a bit blustery at times.

Extended Forecast:

Clouds and much warmer air moves in on Friday with high temps (8900’) reaching 31 degrees with light west winds. Friday evening will see a 20% chance of flurries with only a skiff likely. Things clear out for a partly sunny Saturday with a high of 24. On Sunday a shortwave disturbance will move into the region bringing snow showers with an inch or two through the day. Snow continues Sunday night into MLK Monday with another 1-4” possible. Stay tuned for daily updates.
