Snow on the Way

Summary

It’s a bluebird morning with clear skies over Lone Mountain and light winds. Clouds will increase through the day Friday ahead of a weak system that could drop an inch or so Friday night. After a sunny Saturday, our next snow maker moves in Sunday afternoon bringing periods of heavy snow overnight through MLK Monday with storm totals of 6-12” possible.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 7 degrees in the Village and 21 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Inversions in effect. No new snow was reported in the last 24-hours. Skies are currently partly clear over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. North/NE winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 4mph with gusts to 9mph.  

Today expect a mostly cloudy day with warmer daytime temperatures with a mid/upper mountain high of 28 degrees at 8900’. West/SW winds of 5mph with ridge top gusts to 15mph.  

Extended Forecast:

Friday night will see a 50% chance of snow showers with an inch possible. Things clear out for a partly sunny Saturday with a high of 24. On Sunday a good looking storm system will move into the region bringing afternoon snow showers with an inch or two by last chair. Snow continues, heavy at times Sunday night into MLK Monday with another 5-10” possible. Skies partially clear out for a dry Tuesday before another system moves into the region on Wednesday.
