A Nice Storm Brewing

Summary

A cloudy prelude this morning before snow moves in around noon and brings 1-3 inches by last chair. Snow continues Sunday night into MLK Monday with potentials of an additional 4 to 8 inches of snow through Monday afternoon. A mid-week break of sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday is followed by a weak storm Thursday night into Friday.

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 21 degrees in the Village and 24 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow was reported in the last 24-hours. Skies are currently cloudy over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. West winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 8mph with gusts to 16mph.  

Today expect a cloudy morning with snow developing before noon with 1-3” likely by 4pm. Daytime temps will be mild with mid/upper mountain high of 24 degrees at 8900’. West/SW winds will become stronger in the afternoon with speeds of 15-20mph with ridge top gusts to 35mph.  

Extended Forecast:

Snow continues, heavy at times Sunday night with an additional 3-5” possible. Snow continues for MLK Monday with another 1-3”. Skies partially clear out for a dry Tuesday before another system moves into the region on Wednesday.
