Slow Moving Storm

Summary

After two inches and gusty NW winds overnight, the snow continues this morning, heavy at times and should drop another 3 to 5 inches through the day. A mid-week break of sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday is followed by a weak storm Thursday night into Friday.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 20 degrees in the Village and 12 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). 2” of new snow was reported in the last 24-hours. Skies are currently cloudy with light snow falling over both Lone and Andesite Mountains. West/NW winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 12mph with gusts to 20mph.  

Today expect light snow to continue through around noon then taper off to snow showers and a few clearing breaks by late afternoon. An additional 2-4” is likely by last chair today. Daytime temps will be much colder than Sunday with mid/upper mountain highs of 15 degrees at 8900’. West/NW winds will make things even colder at 15mph with ridge top gusts to 20mph.  

 Extended Forecast:

Monday night a lingering snow showers make leave an inch or so by morning. High-pressure builds in to bring partly sunny skies for Tuesday through Thursday. A weak storm system looks to move into the region Thursday night into Friday. Have fun out there and be respectful of others, just as MLK would have wanted.
