Light Overnight Refresh

Summary

Last night another fresh 3 inches fell adding to this week’s premium 31 inch snowfall total. Saturday morning, snow showers will continue and bring another inch to two. A windy Sunday with partly cloudy skies, gusty SW winds, with mild temps. Monday, pretty much the same with continued gusty SW winds. A cold front on Tuesday brings snow back into the forecast with around 4 to 8 inches possible.

Today:  

 At 7:00AM it’s 12 degrees in the Village and 11 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 4 inches of new snow fell in the last 24 hours, 3 of it since the lifts closed yesterday. Currently the skies are cloudy with light snow falling over Lone and Andesite mountains. At Andesite Mountain at 8800’ winds are currently blowing out of the SE at 2 mph with a recent gust to 5 mph.

 Today expect clouds with light snow, mainly during the morning hours, with another 1 to 2 inches by noon. After that, just cloudy skies. Mountain high temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (at 9000’) of around 20 degrees. NW winds will be blowing at 10-15 mph with an occasional ridgetop gust to 25 mph.

 Extended Forecast:

Snow moves out for a dry and breezy Sunday with a mix of mostly clouds and a few sunny breaks. Look for SW winds to gust up to 35 mph across the alpine on Sunday. Monday, pretty much the same forecast but with even higher SW winds. Temps Sunday and Monday will be slightly above seasonal averages. A cold front arrives Monday night triggering periods of snow with a few inches by Tuesday morning. Tuesday will be a storm day with 3 to 6 inches likely through the day. A slight break on Wednesday then chances of snow return through Friday.
