Morning Snow Bands with Afternoon Sun
Summary
A snow band moved through Big Sky early this morning dropping a quick inch which will make for a nice topping on those early morning laps. There is a slight chance that another band could move through before noon with similar results. The sun will burn through around noon for a partly sunny afternoon. Thursday brings cloudy and breezy ahead of Friday's disturbance that looks to bring 1-3 inches.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 10 degrees in the Village and 5 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 1 inch of new snow was reported in the last 24 hours (falling overnight). Currently the skies are cloudy over Lone and Andesite mountains. At Andesite Mountain at 8800’ winds are currently blowing out of the NW at 2 mph with a recent gust to 7 mph.
Today expect a chilly day with a few hit and miss snow showers during the morning hours with a slight chance of another inch. Skies will mostly clear out before noon for a partly sunny afternoon. Mountain high temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 12 degrees. Winds will be light, blowing out of the North/NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Extended Forecast:
Moderate SW winds across the upper mountain terrain on Thursday will accompany increasing clouds along with afternoon snow flurries with a high at 9000’ around 17. A weakening storm system rides through late Thursday night and Friday bringing light snow with 1 to 3 inches likely. Cloudy skies with snow flurries look to be the forecast for Saturday with continued cold daytime temps with a high of 13 above at 9000’. Sunny skies look to be on tap for Sunday along with slightly warmer daytime temps with a high near 20 across the upper terrain. Unsettled skies return on Monday and Tuesday with chances of snow showers with very light if any accumulations likely.
