Dry Week Ahead

Summary

A ridge of high-pressure will park itself over Montana until Saturday at least bringing mostly sunny skies along with warming temperatures. Monday’s only weather feature to talk about is South/SW winds of 12-17, with gusts to 30 mph across the alpine terrain and ridgetops.

Update

Today:

At 6:00AM it’s 12 degrees at the 8800’ level of Lone Mountain. No new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains.

Today expect mostly sunny skies with high temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) to be around 29 degrees. Winds will be blowing out of the South/SW at 12 to 17 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Extended Forecast:

High-pressure ridging will keep things dry through Saturday. Expect mostly sunny skies along with a warming trend as well. High temperatures across the alpine terrain (9000’) could approach 32 degrees by Wednesday and 40 by Friday. The high-pressure could be pushed east on Sunday by an approaching Pacific weather system but the weather models are not yet in agreement on the timing of this system. It could arrive as late as Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Powder Out –
