Downright Tropical

Summary

The warmest day of the year so far, Friday will bring in a few clouds to mix in with the dominant sun that’s been our early entry into Springtime. The high terrain will once again have highs approaching 40 degrees. High-pressure weakens later on Saturday allowing a weak system to mainly bring in colder air. A bigger storm Monday and Tuesday brings chances of 4 to 8 inches-not a typo. Yep.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 17 degrees in the Village and 24 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the past 24-hours. Currently the skies are partly cloudy over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the East at 1 mph with a recent gust to 4 mph.

Today expect another warm day, this time a mix of sunny skies and high clouds with most of the clouds clearing out around noon. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) to be around 40 degrees. Winds will be blowing out of the South/SW at 10 to 15 mph with afternoon gusts to 25 mph.

Extended Forecast:

High-pressure ridging will keep things partly sunny on Saturday. Morning lows Saturday will continue in the low to mid 20’s. High temperatures across the alpine terrain (9000’) will be around 36 degrees Saturday. The high-pressure now looks to weaken slightly on Saturday afternoon by an approaching Pacific cold front. This will only bring in clouds late Saturday afternoon and few flurries into evening with no accumulations. Cooler air filters in on Sunday along with mostly sunny skies. Monday into Tuesday a bigger system looks to move into the Northern Rockies bringing much cooler air along with increasing snow fall with a 2-day total of 4 to 8 inches possible. The remained of next week also looks favorable for daily doses of snowfall.
