Clear and Cold with Increasing Clouds

Summary

After a rather cold and mostly clear morning, a weakening disturbance moves through Wednesday afternoon that looks to trigger a few scattered snow showers. High-pressure will build in starting Thursday and bring sunny skies to the daily forecast through the closing weekend. Daytime temperatures will be on the rise topping out in the low 40’s at 9000’ on Sunday.

At 7:00AM it’s 9 degrees in the Village and 4 degrees at the 8850’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear with some pockets of patchy fog over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite (8850’) are out of the E/SE at 3 mph with a recent gust to 6 mph.

Today, patchy fog in places but mostly sunny in the morning, with increasing clouds and flurries possible by noon through the afternoon hours. Continued below average temperatures. High temperatures at 9000’ will be around 24 degrees. Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with ridgetop gusts to 25 mph.

Extended Forecast:

There is a very slight chance of snow showers continuing Wednesday night but likely just a dusting if it happens. Thursday, cloudy with occasional flurries with highs (@ 9000’) in the mid-20’s. Friday, partly sunny skies and slightly warmer with a high of 30 at 9000’. The closing weekend is looking pretty good (sunny skies, warmer temperatures – both days) as high-pressure is progged to set up. Highs on Sunday across the upper terrain will reach into the low 40’s.
