Deep snow totals across the board

Summary

Friday morning snow reports have come in deep for most areas across Coastal and Interior BC. The highest totals over the past 24 hours (ending Friday morning) include 33 cm (13”) at Whistler, 27 cm (11”) at Fernie, 25 cm (10”) at Panorama, 23 cm (9”) at Whitewater, and 20 cm (8”) apiece at Revelstoke, Kimberley, Cypress Mtn, and Grouse Mtn. Awesome! Heavy snow will continue across the Interior on Friday and Saturday with another 25-70 cm (10-28”), but rising snow levels are resulting in rain across many lower mountain areas and heavy/wet snow higher up - especially across the Kootenay and Lizard Range areas closer to the US border. Saturday will continue to offer deep conditions across the Interior for mid to high elevation areas above the freezing line. It now appears a secondary storm will arrive Sunday night and Monday, offering a nice refresher with lower snow levels for the Southeast Interior, including Fernie and Kootenay areas. For the Coast Range, the heaviest snow has ended but additional light snow will continue on Friday and Saturday with much lower snow levels, meaning conditions will stay good and fresh through the weekend.
