Coastal BC Snow Favoring the North

Summary

The next storm is moving into Coastal BC on Thursday and will bring the heaviest snow to the North Coast Range and Shames Mountain through Friday morning. Moderate snow can be expected for the South Coast Range/Whistler and light snow for the Interior. Another storm will arrive on Saturday with similar snowfall distributions, favoring the Coast Range. Total snowfall through Sunday morning will range from 40-80 cm (16-32”) across the North Coast Range and 15-30 cm (6-12”) for Whistler and most of the South Coast Range. Friday morning and Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning will offer the softest turns across the Coast Range ski areas. Next week, we should see a stronger storm arrive around New Year’s Eve (Tuesday), with good potential for heavier snowfall across the South Coast Range and South Interior (i.e. most ski areas). Additional storms are likely across Southern BC during the second half of next week as well.
