Drying Trend Then Looking Ahead to NYE Snow
Summary
The highest 24-hour snow totals were reported around the Vancouver ski resorts, Northern BC, and western portions of the Interior with Powder King reporting 28 cm (11”) and Cypress Mountain reporting 20 cm (8”). Light snow will linger across most of BC through Friday. Another weaker storm will impact Coastal BC on Saturday, though models have trended toward less snowfall compared to previous forecasts. Sunday is looking dry for most areas, then attention turns to a stronger storm that will bring snow to most of BC on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday) with New Year’s Day morning looking like a potential powder day for many areas. Additional snow will be possible during the days after New Year’s as well, though details are highly uncertain.
