More Powder for the Coast Range and Southern Interior

Summary

The leading edge of an approaching storm system brought heavy snow to the Vancouver area resorts with up to 30 cm (12”) recorded on Wednesday morning’s snow report at Grouse Mountain. Some lulls in the activity are occurring Wednesday morning, but snow will pick back up Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday with heavy amounts expected for the Coast Range and Southern Interior especially. This snow will be cold, light, and powder with Thursday morning offering great powder skiing conditions for most areas. We will see a break in the pattern on Friday with most areas enjoying some lingering freshies before the next storm arrives late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Heavy snow will fall across the Coast Range on Saturday with good storm skiing conditions all day, while the Interior will see much lighter amounts. Additional snow can be expected for the Coast Range on Sunday with snow levels approaching 1,000 meters. The period from Monday, January 20th through Friday, January 24th looks active with frequent storms expected for both the Coast and Interior ranges.
