Big Storm Cycle Starts on Wednesday

Summary

Most areas are seeing a break in the pattern on Tuesday afternoon, but a multi-day storm cycle remains on track from Wednesday through Sunday. The first storm will arrive on Wednesday, followed by a break on Thursday morning before another storm arrives Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. Snow levels will be relatively low on Wednesday before gradually rising through Thursday. The strongest and longest duration storm will then arrive on Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday morning with freezing levels rising to 1,800-2,000 meters Friday night and Saturday morning, before gradually falling later Saturday and reaching base areas by Sunday morning. Most areas will see heavy precipitation during this storm cycle, but areas above 2,000 meters will experience the most consistent and reliable skiing conditions. Behind this storm cycle, colder and drier conditions will arrive early next week.
