Much Colder Sunday-Monday, Next Storm Cycle Begins Tuesday

Summary

Much colder air has moved into BC on Saturday evening with lingering light snow across the Interior, which will taper off late in the evening. A weak disturbance will arrive on Sunday, bringing light snow to the Coast Range with freezing levels below base areas, while the Interior will stay mostly dry aside from some light snow for Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, and the Northern Columbias. Monday will be cold and dry across most areas, except for Northern BC where snow will arrive late in the day or overnight, signaling the start of the next storm cycle. This next storm cycle will feature a persistent northwest storm track with frequent storms from Tuesday through Friday or Saturday. The first storm will bring snow to the Coast Range and Interior starting on Tuesday, with another one to quickly follow on Wednesday. We may see a brief break early Thursday, then the next (potentially stronger) storm is projected sometime between late Thursday, February 6th and early Saturday, February 8th, though model consensus on timing is poor. Beyond Saturday the 8th, we will likely enter a drier pattern for a few days.
