Winter Returns on the First Day of Spring and Stays Awhile

Summary

One more sunny day of life under a springlike upper-level ridge on Mon. A vigorous cold front will move out of the sub-arctic and descend north to south across the Rockies beginning on Tues. A drastic wintery change to the weather will oddly enough start on Weds, the spring equinox with upslope snowfall that will likely continue through Fri. Three-day storm totals of 20 – 50cm are possible.
