By Powderchaser Steve, Forecaster Posted 7 years ago January 16, 2018

Low elevation snow for the Sierra with 2-3 storms headed for the Cascades, California, and the Rockies in the next 7-10 days.

Summary

The next 7-10 days will feature 2 systems that bring colder temps to the west beginning on Thursday. It's possible that the Sierra land 15-25 inches by Monday (2 storms) with good low elevation snow thats much needed. Other highlights will be the Cascades and central Idaho with wildcards for the Tetons and Wasatch. Models are flip flopping on amounts in the Rockies but leftovers are certain to extend over most of the west. It's the first time we have seen colder temps on the models over most of the lower elevations of the mountains all winter!
