Update

Friday 3/29 – Saturday 3/30

Friday is storm day.

Expect snow to begin Friday mid-morning or midday and showers will continue through Friday afternoon, with the chance for a few bursts of intense snow from small convective cells (like summertime thunderstorms). On Friday night into Saturday morning, one more wave of energy could push across Colorado which may keep the showers going.

I’ll stick with my forecast for 3-6 inches.

The best chance to ski soft snow will be on Friday afternoon and also Saturday’s first chair. The softest snow should be on the groomed runs and on shaded north-facing slopes.

Longer Range

From Saturday through Monday, we should see dry weather or maybe just a few showers from lingering moisture and storm energy to our south.

Then a storm should bring snow from late on Tuesday, April 2 through Thursday, April 4. Since the ingredients of the system include a good amount of moisture and storm energy, there is a chance for moderate or significant snow totals. Keep your eye on next Wednesday or Thursday. With a little luck, these could be powder days.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
