Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update
Tuesday offered fresh snow in the morning, mostly cloudy skies all day with a few light snow showers, and cold temperatures as readings stayed near 0°F.
Now on Wednesday morning, it’s another cold start with temperatures around -10°F. We should warm into the single digits above zero today, though any clouds that do move in could limit this warming.
The storm that we have been anticipating later this week is still on track, and it’s likely that we’ll enjoy a couple of fun powder days.
Snow will begin on Wednesday night and continue through late Friday night with total accumulations of 1-2 feet and a chance of going above that range. In northern Colorado, our limiting factor when it comes to snow is usually a lack of moisture, but that won’t be a problem in this case as there will be a stream of moisture pointed right at us, coming directly from the Pacific Ocean.
The timing of the storm should bring moderate snow on Thursday, heavy snow on Thursday night through Friday, and then additional accumulations on Friday night after lifts close. This means that Thursday will get more powdery through the day, Friday should offer deep powder, and Saturday morning could be fun thanks to the extra snow that falls on Friday evening.
One downside to this storm will be the warming temperatures and strong winds on Friday. These factors will create thicker, denser powder, and the wind could also slow / delay / close some of the more exposed lifts. If this happens, then the snow that falls on Friday will be untouched and ready to be enjoyed on Saturday morning.
Looking further ahead, we should see drier weather from Saturday morning through Saturday night. Then we could see light snow return on Sunday into Monday, with more snow possible for the rest of the week. I will offer a more detailed outlook for next week when I see more consistency in the forecast.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
