Update

Saturday offered leftover powder from the storm on Thursday and Friday and we saw a short window of calm weather with partly sunny skies and temperatures rising into the upper 20s to low 30s on the mountain.

The next storm arrived on Saturday evening. Snow continued overnight and through early Sunday morning as a narrow band hung near the I-70 corridor. The mid-mountain snow stake cam shows about 5 inches early on Sunday, and snow will continue to fall between this 500am report and when lifts open, so for first chair, expect to enjoy more snow than what has been reported. Also, the snow should be light and fluffy thanks to cooling temperatures. Get out early on Sunday morning and enjoy this atmospheric gift!

For the rest of Sunday, Sunday night, Monday, and Monday night, this narrow band of snow could hang around the I-70 corridor. We may see times of no snow, times of light-to-moderate snow, and bursts of intense snow. I am sorry that I cannot pinpoint which times we could see the more intense snow – this is a low-predictability situation because that narrow band of snow could oscillate north and south often and with little pattern to its movement. We could see another 3-6+ inches between Sunday morning and Monday afternoon, and that means that like Sunday, we could see a powder day on Monday.

Snow should slow down and/or end by later on Monday or Monday night, and we might trend toward dry weather on Tuesday.

I have low confidence in the forecast beyond Tuesday. We will likely see additional chances for snow around midweek, the upcoming weekend, and the following week. When I see any consistency in forecast data beyond Tuesday, I’ll let you know what I am seeing and when we can expect the next powder day.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
