Update

Tuesday brought a mix of dry weather and stronger snow showers. We had little accumulation during the day, then a stronger cell dropped 1 inch of snow on the official mid-mountain snow stake on Tuesday evening. We’ll take the flakes, especially since this was a weak and ill-defined storm and we had low expectations.

Wednesday will start dry and mostly cloudy, then we’ll have a chance for a few inches of snow from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Like the system on Tuesday, I am keeping my snow accumulation expectations low due to the ill-defined nature of the storm, but we could get could lucky and see 4+ inches thanks to the abundant springtime moisture in the air.

Thursday morning will be the best chance to enjoy any new snow that falls from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night. Then on Thursday afternoon, we should transition to drier and partly sunny weather.

Friday morning will be dry, then by Friday afternoon and Friday night, expect snow to fall as a southwestern storm tracks over Colorado. Like the previous storms, I’ll go with a forecast for a couple of inches, though since this storm is stronger and well-defined, we could get lucky and see 6+ inches if a few intense bands and cells track over the mountain.

Saturday morning will be the best chance to enjoy the new snow that falls from later Friday through Friday night.

Then from Saturday afternoon through Monday, we’ll likely see drier weather. There could be a few showers around, but the next storm will still be far to the west over California.

Next Tuesday through Thursday (March 17-19) looks like our next chance for significant snow. This storm will move through in multiple pieces and will also bring colder air, or, at least colder than the springtime temperatures that we saw last week and this week. The chance of a mid-week powder day next week is pretty high, but we’ll need to wait longer to lock in the details.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
