Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Snow Monday night
Summary
Our best chance for snow will be on Monday night into Tuesday morning with 4-8 inches of accumulation.
Short Term Forecast
Opening Day is November 30th.
Sunday was dry and mostly sunny with highs in the 30s to low 40s. On Sunday night, we saw an inch of snow on the mid-mountain snow stake cam as a few showers pushed north across Colorado while most of the steady snow stayed in the southern part of the state.
On Monday we’ll see a mixed day with some sun, some clouds, and maybe a few snow showers. The storm is currently bringing snow to the southern mountains. On Monday night into Tuesday morning, the storm will move across Colorado and we should see at least a few hours of steady snow with 3-6 inches of accumulation by mid-morning on Tuesday. Then during the day on Tuesday, we should see snow showers continue as the storm strengthens to our east and creates a northwest wind over the northern mountains. This northwest wrap-around flow is tricky – sometimes it delivers 2-4+ inches and sometimes just a coating to an inch or two. Let’s hope we wind up on the high side!
Wednesday and Thursday should be mostly dry with high temperatures in the upper 20s.
The next chance for snow will be around Thursday night into Friday morning. This will be a weak storm with limited moisture so my expectations are quite low. Maybe we’ll sneak out a coating to an inch or two if we’re fortunate.
Extended Forecast
I am watching December 1-2 and December 6-8 as our next chances for snow. Unfortunately, neither storm appears like it will bring significant snow. The forecast could change, and I hope it does, but for now, I have low expectations for snowfall through the first 10 days of December.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
