Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Snow Sunday afternoon & Tuesday afternoon Copper
Summary
A weak storm will bring light snow totals on Sunday afternoon, and then a moderately-strong storm will bring 2-5 inches on Tuesday into Tuesday night.
Short Term Forecast
On Saturday night, we wound up seeing a few flakes from a weak storm moving over Colorado, and the mountain picked up about 5-10 flakes (not inches:-).
Now on Sunday morning, clouds may give way to some sunshine, though that will not last as another system will move into northern Colorado with snow showers on Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. This will be another weak storm, so my snow total expectations are low, likely just a dusting to 2 inches.
On Monday, we’ll see sunshine and warmer temperatures rising into the 20s.
On Tuesday into Tuesday night, a moderately-strong storm will bring periods of potentially intense snow which should total 2-5 inches. Snow showers should fall throughout the day on Tuesday and will extend into Tuesday night, so the softest turns should be either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
Extended Forecast
The latest forecast models continue to show chances for just weak storms into mid-January with no credible evidence of a stronger storm in our future.
The next chance for light snow could be around Friday, January 8 though I continue to keep my expectations low.
From about January 9-16, it is likely that the storm track will lift to the north of Colorado, though if the storm track doesn’t go that far north, it is still possible that storms could bring some snow every few days.
I am doing my snow dances, washing my car, and everything else I can think of to make it snow more, but right now chances for big snow through mid-January are pretty low.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
