Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Powder now, snow continues through the weekend at Copper
Summary
Thursday morning will offer deep power, and a lot more snow will come on Friday into Saturday
Short Term Forecast
Wednesday started warm, then by sunset, colder air arrived and the snow fell intensely on Wednesday night.
Now on Thursday morning, the snow stake shows that 6 inches fell overnight + 3 inches from Wednesday afternoon and that equals a 24-hour total of 9 inches. The earlier snow could be thick due to wind and warm temperatures and the top snow could be fluffy due to cold temperatures and light wind. Enjoy the powder!
On Thursday, we will see a break in the steady snowfall, though snow showers could continue.
Then from Thursday night through Saturday midday, another round of snow will hit the mountain and totals could be significant with 5-10 inches by Saturday midday. Actual accumulations could be deeper as often models have a hard time with northwest flow and real-life snowfall can be more than what we see in the forecast.
After Saturday midday, the snowfall may relax but may not completely stop as storm energy, the jet stream, and moisture will all linger over northern Colorado. So we could see snowflakes continue into Sunday.
Extended Forecast
For next week and the following weekend, February 8-14, most models do not show much snow, but I am watching this time closely because multiple factors will be lurking close by (storm energy, the jet stream, some moisture). We might be able to sneak out more snow from this pattern. I’ll keep you updated with details once I have more confidence.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
