Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 3 years ago April 3, 2021
Spring for now at Copper, cooler with snow next week
Summary
Bring your sunscreen and light layers as temperatures will be warm through Monday. A change in the weather with snow and wind is likely during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Short Term Forecast
Friday was a gorgeous day with sunshine and temperatures that rose into the 40s at the summit and into the low 50s at the base.
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will also be warm with on-mountain temperatures in the 40s and low 50s. The only wrinkle in the forecast will be on Sunday afternoon when we see more clouds and a chance for a few raindrops or flakes. This will NOT ruin the day, it’s just something to keep in mind as the clouds and a few drops or flakes on Sunday afternoon will be different than the weather during the previous and following day.
Extended Forecast
Next week, we will see a change in the weather when a compact storm tracks across northern Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect strong winds and a chance for at least a few inches of snow on both Tuesday and Wednesday. If the snow comes to fruition, there might be a little powder to enjoy on Wednesday, April 7.
After that, I have low confidence in the forecast through mid-April. Some models show a chance for snow between April 8-11 and again around April 13-14, but not all models agree about this. We’ll see how it shakes out over the coming days.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
