Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 2 years ago April 22, 2022
Weekend storm
Summary
Snow will arrive on Friday evening and snow showers will continue through Sunday evening.
Update
Thursday was sunny and warm with on-mountain temperatures in the upper 40s to mid-50s.
The first half of Friday will be similar to Thursday with sunny and warm weather.
Then on Friday afternoon, we'll see more clouds and gusty winds, with snow beginning to fall late in the afternoon and during the evening. Snow showers will continue on Friday night.
By Saturday morning, we should have 2-5 inches of new snow on the ground which should ride nicely on the groomed runs. During the day on Saturday, more snow showers will occur, with the most intense showers likely during the afternoon and on Saturday evening with another 2-5 inches of accumulation. This means that the last run on Saturday afternoon and more likely the first run on Sunday morning should be when we'll enjoy the softest snow from this storm.
Sunday will be mixed with likely dry weather in the morning followed by perhaps intense snow showers later on Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. So, the closing day will offer a little bit of everything from new snow to some breaks of sunshine and temperatures in the 20s – a fitting way to end the season!
