A soft weekend

Summary

Steady snow on Saturday evening means a soft day on Sunday.

Update

Saturday morning was soft (on the groomers) thanks to the 5 inches of snow that fell on Friday night.

During the day on Saturday, we saw light snow showers with 2-3 inches of accumulation, then we got a gift with about 4 inches of snow falling on Saturday evening thanks to a few intense snow squalls that moved over the mountain.

This snow from Saturday night means that Sunday morning will be soft as well. I don't know that there is enough new snow to cover all of the crust, but it will be a pretty nice day of riding for late April.

For Sunday's closing day, the weather will be a mix of some sun, some clouds, and some snow showers with little accumulation. On Sunday late afternoon and Sunday night, there will be intense snow showers that form close by, but I don't know if they'll hit the mountain or not. If the showers hit, we could see some accumulation and if the showers stay just to the south and east of the mountain (the more likely scenario), we might wind up with no new snow. I'm only mentioning this from a driving perspective since the mountain will not be open after Sunday afternoon.
