Copper Mountain Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 10 years ago January 12, 2015
Sunday's snowfall acted about as I expected, with 2-3 inches falling during the day with on-and-off snow showers. But then, unexpectedly, a few heavier showers dropped another 3 inches of snow in a small area around Copper between about 5pm and 10pm on Sunday evening. So get out and enjoy a few fresh inches on the groomers, and perhaps the total of 5 inches could make the non-groomed trails ski nicely as well.
On Monday, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies with a few snow showers and accumulations likely under an inch. Then heavier snow showers are likely on Monday night and Tuesday with about 2-4 inches of accumulation, though I have low confidence in the details of this forecast and I could see a bit higher snow accumulations if enough energy from the storm in southern Colorado pushes north into Copper. The snow should end Tuesday evening, with dry weather for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Chances for snow will return to the forecast beginning on Sunday (18th) and continuing through at least Wednesday (21st).
