Spotty snow this week, next storm around Sunday, April 14

Summary

The weather will be mostly dry from Sunday through Saturday, and then another winter-like storm could arrive around Sunday, April 14.

Update

Saturday

Saturday offered 3 inches of new snow in the morning and an additional 2 inches of snow fell during the day. The base was crunchy following a week of warm weather, but there were some softer turns to be found as well. The other story on Saturday was the wind which gusted to 40+ mph at the summit.

Sunday

There was 1 inch of new snow on Saturday night, so Sunday morning's conditions will be similar to Saturday with softer snow in areas that were groomed or buffed by the wind.

The weather will be partly sunny with continued times of gusty winds (though a little slower than on Saturday) and the high temperature will be in the low 20s.

Monday & Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday should be dry and mostly sunny with a high in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Tuesday Night to Wednesday Night

From Tuesday night to Wednesday night, a storm will bring waves of snow to northeastern Colorado. We'll be on the edge of this system, though we still may see times of snow showers and clouds. The high temperature on Wednesday will be in the low 30s.

Thursday & Friday

Both Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny and warm with a high temperature in the 40s. Snow conditions will be typical of spring with crunchy snow in the morning and soft/slushy snow in the afternoon. Winds could be a bit gusty on Friday afternoon.

Saturday

Saturday will be dry, warm, and windy as gusts increase ahead of the next storm.

Sunday, April 14 - Tuesday, April 16

The next strong storm will bring the potential for powder on Sunday, April 14, and snow showers and cooler air may stick around through Monday, April 15, and Tuesday, April 16.

My next update will be Monday morning.
