Warm through Sunday, then snow on Monday night

Summary

The weekend will be warm and sunny - enjoy the spring conditions! Then we should see snow and colder temperatures on Monday night and Tuesday.

Update

Friday

Friday was sunny and warm with a high temperature in the 40s. It was classic spring skiing with soft snow around late morning, then slushy snow during the afternoon.

Saturday & Sunday

On Friday night, skies were mostly cloudy, which kept temperatures near or just above freezing. This means that Saturday morning's conditions may not be crunchy in all areas as some snow did not freeze overnight.

The weather on Saturday and Sunday will be more of the same with sunny skies and warm high temperatures reaching the 50s.

Snow Monday & Tuesday

Monday will start dry and sunny, then clouds will increase later in the day and we'll see snow from Monday evening through Tuesday morning or midday. This storm will be cold enough for snow to fall across the mountain on Monday night, and while some models show 10+ inches of snow, others are backing off and show just 3-6 inches of accumulation.

Tuesday morning will offer fresh snow, but it is NOT a lock if we see the higher-end snow totals (which would make Tuesday a powder day) or if we see lower snow totals and enjoy just a few inches of new snow on top of the groomers.

Longer Range

For later next week through the end of April, odds favor a return to dry and warm weather, but there is still a chance that we'll see clouds and a few snowflakes at times as storm energy lingers near the Rockies. It'll take at least another few days until we can figure this out.

My next update will be Sunday morning.
