Copper Mountain Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 10 years ago February 26, 2015
The official snow report shows that two inches of snow fell on Wednesday with another three inches accumulating on Wednesday night after the lifts closed. Enjoy this new snow under sunny skies on Thursday morning!
Coming up, we'll see two periods of snowfall over the next week. The first storm will bring hit-and-miss snow showers from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Because of the scattered nature of these showers, Copper could see anywhere from just an inch or two of snow up to perhaps 6 inches. Then the next storm will last a long time, from about Friday night through next Wednesday. Snow flakes will likely be in the air during this entire time, though I'm forecasting only small accumulations each day and night since the wind will generally be from an unfavorable direction (from the southwest). That said, there could be narrow bands of heavier snow that form during this storm, and if one of those bands moves over Copper, snow accumulations could jump in a hurry. So keep an eye on the snow stake cam throughout the weekend and I'll continue to provide storm updates each day.
