Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 10 years ago February 27, 2015

Snow showers fell along the I-70 corridor from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning, and Copper was able to squeak out two inches during this time, just missing the heavier snow showers that fell to the west. Still, conditions should be fantastic as cold temperatures combine with 7 inches of new snow over the previous two days.

Looking ahead, Friday will be generally dry, and then we'll see periods of snow starting on Friday night and continuing through Wednesday. From Friday night through Tuesday, winds will blow from the southwest, which is not a favorable wind direction for Copper, so I am forecasting just a few inches during each day and night timeframe. That said, there could be two waves of snow that bring deeper accumulations, one on Saturday afternoon/evening and another on Sunday night. Then, from Tuesday into Wednesday, colder air will move in and the wind will blow from the northwest, so watch out for additional moderate to significant accumulations on these days.
