Update

It feels like spring at Copper Mountain with midday temperatures rising into the 40s at mid-mountain and the mid-30s at the summit. There will be a brief change over back to winter, though, as a fast-moving storm will clip northern Colorado on Friday night. Expect snow to fall between about midnight and Saturday mid-morning with a coating to 2 inches of accumulation. The timing of this snow means that you’ll likely enjoy a few soft turns on Saturday morning if you’re out for first chair, and be careful driving to the mountain as roads will likely be snow packed with lower visibility for a time on Saturday AM.

Following a partly sunny day on Saturday, another storm will clip northern Colorado on Sunday and this should result in on-and-off snow showers during the day with another coating to 2 inches of accumulation.

For next week, we’ll be back into spring-like conditions with temperatures warming into the 40s at mid-mountain most days, and perhaps a chance for a snow shower later next week. Longer-range models show a lot of snow for the end of March and early April, but that’s too far away for us to have much confidence in the forecast.
