Update

Opening day is today, Friday, November 10th!

We have seen some snow at Copper this early season, but our natural snowpack is currently below average, and any open terrain will make use of machine-made snow.

Temperatures are generally cold enough for snow to be made at night, but the snow guns will likely need to shut off for some part of the day on Friday.

On Saturday, a weak storm will drop a few flakes on Cooper, and importantly, this storm will cool the air which will allow for more efficient snowmaking.

Looking further ahead, temperatures should cool again later next week, which will allow snowmaking to ramp up. However, it's going to be at least 1-2 more weeks before we see a significant storm with natural snow. Don't worry – we will get into a stormy pattern, but it's going to take some time.

Thanks for reading and check back daily for a new update!
