Snow Forecast

The mountain corridor picked up 1-3 inches for Wednesday morning's reports thanks to our first round of snow for the week on Tuesday. Mostly clear skies are now in place on Wednesday morning as we catch a break in the snow.

For the rest of this week, we'll be tracking two more rounds of snow. The first round and weaker round of snow will arrive on Wednesday afternoon and continue into Wednesday night. The second and stronger round of snow will arrive during the second half of Thursday and continue through Friday.

Wednesday's wave will leave us with anywhere from a dusting to maybe 1-2 inches. Thursday and into Friday should provide most areas with 3-6+ inches of snow. Target Friday and/or Saturday for fresh turns.

Snow could then linger into Saturday as this week's storm exits Colorado. Saturday night will then likely feature single-digit temps and lead us into a cool and dry day on Sunday.

Travel Forecast

Wet, slushy, and snowy road surfaces will continue, off-and-on, through Saturday morning.

The strong April sun will help to clear most road surfaces during the daylight hours but very heavy snow showers can still quickly create slick and snowy road surfaces.

Expect slower travel speeds and road closures due to accidents at times from Wednesday evening through Saturday morning, especially near the Eisenhower Tunnel and over Vail Pass on Thursday and into Friday.

Give yourself plenty of travel time and stay tuned to CDOT for the latest updates.

Extended Forecast

Looking ahead to next week, we'll be tracking another round of snow come Monday. This system will slide down the spine of the Rockies and depending on the exact track, it could provide us with a healthy refresh into Tuesday.

Additional chances for snow will then follow later next week and into the final 10 days of April. Overall, a very spring-like pattern, with sunny days and chances for snow here and there.

Thanks for reading! Next update on Friday (4/16).
