Wednesday

We'll continue to receive dry weather through Wednesday morning ahead of a quickly approaching storm that will arrive by late Wednesday afternoon, likely between 3 PM and 5 PM.

This system has limited moisture but it will strengthen over Colorado which could lead to an upside surprise. The wind direction will also shift from a northwesterly flow to eventually a northeasterly flow by late Wednesday night.

This will provide areas west of the divide with a burst of snow through Wednesday evening before it switches to focus on areas along and east of the divide through late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

In total, I'll stick with 1-4 inches, with the bulk of this coming late Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Temps will drop into the single digits on Wednesday night.

Thursday

Snow will continue for areas east of the divide through Thursday morning before the storm exits during the second half of Thursday and drop temps in the low single digits on Thursday night.

Thursday morning could be a nice time to enjoy a couple of inches of fluff so get out there before you settle in for a day of football, family, and Thanksgiving dinner!

Friday - Saturday

Mild temps and dry weather will follow for Friday and into Saturday. Highs will climb back into the upper 20s to low 30s, with lows in the teens.

Travel Forecast

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds continue through early Wednesday afternoon.

Wet, slick, and snowy road surfaces will then be in play beginning between 3 PM and 5 PM on Wednesday. This could create minor travel impacts due to accidents and slower travel speeds.

Heavy traffic along westbound I-70 will also be a concern for most of the day on Wednesday so plan to give yourself extra travel time and get to your destination by early Wednesday afternoon to avoid any potential headaches.

Check out GoI70 and CDOT for the latest updates.

Slick and snowy road surfaces will continue through Thursday morning ahead of mostly dry road surfaces beginning on Thursday afternoon. Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds continue from Thursday night through Saturday.

Chances for snow will return on Sunday (11/27), though any major travel impacts won't likely arrive until Tuesday, November 29. Plan for slower travel speeds due to snowy road surfaces during the middle of next week.

Extended Forecast

Next Week

The action will then pick back up beginning on Saturday night and into Sunday with a chance for light snow. Nothing too exciting but it will signal that changes are ahead.

Following a break Sunday night and into Monday, we'll be tracking a stronger storm by Monday night and into Tuesday, November 29.

Keep your schedules open for the last chair Tuesday and/or the first chair on Wednesday, November 30 as this could be a great time to catch early-season powder on limited open terrain.

We'll then be back in the flow as additional chances for snow follow in early December.

Thanks for reading and look for a quick update on Thanksgiving morning!
